Streak continues.
The football gods are apparently angry with KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles. Otherwise, this wouldn’t be so lopsided.
Joe has no idea what Bowles did to the AFC North over the years. But Joe sure knows what the AFC North has done to Bowles since he became head coach in 2022.
After yesterday’s debacle in Cincinnati, Bowles is now 0-7 against AFC North teams.
Joe is convinced it is the style of play. Bowles’ Bucs, at least recently, are simply not physical. His Bucs team often wilts against smashmouth clubs. Every team in the AFC North plays physical ball to some degree. Otherwise, they wouldn’t ever be able to hang with Pittsburgh or Baltimore.
The NFC South landfill is soft. Maybe the most physical team is the Bucs, or perhaps the slimy Saints. And the Bucs are not physical, even though they have a handful of physical players.
Bowles better fix this AFC North thing out quickly. The Bucs’ next opponent is Cleveland on Sunday. Guess what division the Browns play in?
If Bowles cannot master the Browns and the Bucs start the season 0-2, Joe cannot imagine the howling next week for Bowles’ head on a platter.
