The transfer window may have closed but Liverpool are continuing to keep a close eye on potential targets

Liverpool are one of a few clubs reportedly showing an interest in PSV Eindhoven midfielder Paul Wanner. The Reds are said to be keeping a close eye on the development of the 20-year-old.
The Reds added to both their attacking and defensive options during the summer transfer window just gone. Bradley Barcola completed a late £123 million move to Anfield, with Victor Munoz also arriving to boost Andoni Iraola’s attacking options.
Defenders Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo also arrived as the club looked to bolster their defence. The next few windows could therefore see attention turn to potential midfield reinforcements.

Polish outlet Sportowyreports that Liverpool are closely watching Wanner, who plays as an attacking midfielder for PSV. He can also play in a deeper role, with his versatility potentially appealing to the Reds.
However, they face competition from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, who are also reportedly interested. PSV are said to be wanting a price of around €45million-€50million (£38.5million-£42.8million) if they are to sell, with the final value dependent on achievable bonuses.
Wanner spent the majority of his early career with Bayern Munich before moving to PSV in 2025. That potentially gives the German club a transfer advantage, with it suggested that they have a priority to re-sign the player, which could possibly have an impact on the price that he is sold for if he leaves PSV.

Wanner has made eight appearances so far this season, providing one assist. In total, he has made 40 first-team appearances for the Dutch club, scoring five goals and providing five assists.
Liverpool midfield duo Domink Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberchstruggled in the first half of Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Fulham. Gravenberch was replaced by Alexis Mac Allister midway through the second half.
Iraola also has both Wataru Endo and Trey Nyoni as other midfield options. The former is yet to make an appearance this season after missing some of pre-season due to injury.
"Wata lost quite a lot of the pre-season. He is still not at his best but he is training very well," Iraola said.
"The problem is in front of him in his position I have a lot of players. He is competing against a lot of players.
"We are giving minutes to Trey, Ryan, Alexis and Dom, players that I am selecting right now. But Wata is definitely a player that I like and for sure he will have his moments."
