Liverpool is among a handful of clubs tracking PSV midfielder Paul Wanner, according to reports.

The Merseyside outfit is understood to be closely monitoring the progress of the 20-year-old. The Reds strengthened both their attacking and defensive ranks during the recently concluded summer transfer window.

Bradley Barcola completed a late switch to Anfield, with Victor Munoz also joining to bolster Andoni Iraola's forward options. Defensive reinforcements came in the shape of Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo as the club sought to shore up its backline. As a result, attention could well shift toward potential midfield additions over the coming windows.

Polish outlet Sportowy reports that Liverpool is keeping a close eye on Wanner, who primarily operates as an attacking midfielder for PSV.

The youngster is also capable of playing in a deeper position, and his adaptability is likely to appeal to the Anfield club.

Nevertheless, the Reds face stiff competition from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, all of whom are said to have registered an interest.

PSV is reportedly seeking a fee in the region of €45 million to €50 million ($51.9 million to $57.7 million) for the player, with the precise figure depending on attainable bonuses.

Wanner spent the bulk of his formative years with Bayern Munich before transferring to PSV in 2025.

This potentially affords the German club a transfer edge, with reports indicating it holds priority rights to re-acquire the player, which could feasibly influence the fee should he depart PSV.

Wanner has featured eight times this campaign, registering one assist.

In total, he has accumulated 40 senior outings for the Dutch side, netting five goals and laying on five assists.

Liverpool midfield pairing Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch endured a difficult opening 45 minutes during Saturday's 0-0 stalemate with Fulham.

Gravenberch was withdrawn for Alexis Mac Allister partway through the second period.

Iraola also has Wataru Endo and Trey Nyoni as alternative midfield options. The former is yet to feature this term after missing portions of the preseason through injury.
