Games are coming thick and fast for Andoni Iraola’s side and it goes without saying that they don’t have a squad good enough to compete on all fronts.
Players on the fringes of the squad are expected to feature tomorrow as they aim to get valuable minutes.
And now, Iraola has confirmed that Giorgi Mamardashvili will start between the sticks for Liverpool in place of Alisson Becker.

“Alisson is proven, he is playing very well. I rate Giorgi very highly; I know him from his years in Spain.
“We tried to sign him for Bournemouth before I came here; he is a very good goalkeeper. He is going to start tomorrow.”

Mamardashvili hasn’t really set the world alight at Anfield so far, but to be fair to him, he can’t match the lofty standards Alisson has set at the club.
He will get his chance tomorrow and will look to make an impression, and the fact that Iraola rates him and wanted him sign him at Bournemouth should only give him confidence.
