The Boston Celtics have made a new addition ahead of training camp.
On Monday, Sept. 14, HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reported that Devin Carter and the Celtics have agreed to a deal. Scotto added that Carter will compete for a roster or two-way spot in training camp.
Boston's interest in Carter emerged after he was waived by the Atlanta Hawks last week

Who is Devin Carter?
Carter is a 24-year-old guard from Miami, Florida.
Carter played one season at South Carolina and two seasons at Providence. He was named the Big East Player of the Year in 2024 and earned First-team All-Big East honors.
The Sacramento Kings selected Carter with the No. 13 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Carter's father, Anthony, played in the NBA for 13 seasons with six teams.
Is Devin Carter good?
Carter is a defensive-minded guard whose biggest question is his outside jumper.
Through two NBA seasons, Carter has career averages of 6.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. He's shooting 40.1 percent from the field and 27.4 percent from 3-point range.
If Carter can become a more reliable 3-point shooter, he has the tools to develop into a valuable 3-and-D player. He actually drew Derrick White comparisons ahead of the NBA Draft for that reason.
One concern with Carter is durability. He played 36 games as a rookie and 38 games as a sophomore.
