The Boston Celtics have agreed to a deal with a young guard, who was drafted 13th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Devin Carter is set to join Boston as reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
While the length and amount of the deal isn't specified, Scotto reveals that Carter will compete for an NBA roster or two-way spot in the Celtics' camp.
The Celtics have 14 active players on their current roster and are about $1.7 million below the luxury tax with a single two-way spot available as well.

After being drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2024, Carter went on to play a total of 74 games over two seasons with the franchise.
While he had a quiet rookie campaign, averaging just 3.8 points, he had a much more effective second season.
In 38 games last season (12 starts), he averaged 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in around 18 minutes of action while shooting 41.4% from the field.
The 24-year-old also had multiple standout performances in the G League last season with the Stockton Kings.
He appeared in five games with them during the 2025-26 season, averaging 23.2 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in 33 minutes of play.
The Miami Heat had been suggested to join the Celtics in the race for the guard, who was waived by the Atlanta Hawks after they traded for him in exchange for a future second-round pick back in June.
