Despite putting his full focus on the Manchester derby this weekend, Enzo Maresca said he would “hopefully” attend an Oasis gig at the Etihad Stadium if the iconic band were to announce a tour.

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher electrified the planet in 2024 when they announced a series of shows just days before the 30th anniversary of their album Definitely Maybe, which saw them perform across the world, starting at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and ending at the Estadio do Morumbi in Sao Paulo.
On their way, the band - who have eight UK number one singles and eight UK number one albums, with Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Live Forever known amongst their best songs - stopped at Heaton Park, Wembley Stadium, and Celtic Park.
However, after mounting speculation online, a drone formation was seen above the Joie Stadium, home of Manchester City Women and the club's Academy side, close to midnight last Thursday night, which transitioned from the band’s logo to 14.09.26 and the time 4PM BST (16:00).
Maresca hopes to attend one of Oasis' gigs at Etihad Stadium
The announcement of a tour has been weighed up for a long time following frustration over Ticketmaster’s handling of the previous events and people’s subsequent inability to either afford or gain access to tickets due to long and dysfunctional queue times.
In light of the problems, teaser videos have been posted daily on Oasis’ social channels for the past week, and they provide a sneak peek into where the band could be touring next year, which Enzo Maresca said he would attend despite his full focus at the moment being on Manchester City's upcoming matches.
“Hopefully yes. In this moment, the focus is on something different, but hopefully yes,” the Manchester City manager said on Friday morning.
One of the videos online featured two boys playing football with a blue moon image on a window frame, and the number 11 scribbled onto the wall in chalk as a goal tally.
Yet when one of the kids scored, increasing the tally to 12, it gave fans the impression that the Gallagher brothers were planning to perform on 12 record-breaking nights at the Etihad Stadium.
The Masterplan for Maresca's first Manchester derby
Enzo Maresca took part in his first Manchester derby as City boss on Sunday afternoon, ultimately maintaining a perfect start via a 0-1 win at Old Trafford, since succeeding the legendary Pep Guardiola, who won 20 trophies over a decade at the club.
During the Treble year, Maresca was Guardiola's assistant when the Citizens hammered Manchester United 6-3 in a brutal showing of dominance that ended in both Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scoring a hat-trick each.
However, now that Enzo Maresca is in the driving seat with a completely different side, it is solely a test of his tactical and philosophical experience, which came so early into his career at the Etihad Stadium club.
While Manchester City spent over £440 million during the summer transfer window on Enzo Fernandez, Elliot Anderson, Ayyoub Bouaddi and Iliman Ndiaye, it was the familiar face of Erling Haaland who made the difference with his second-half goal - despite the vital contributions of new faces on Sunday.
