Ifeanyi Ndukwe will be eligible to play for Liverpool this season after making his debut on loan at Levante.
The 18-year-old centre-back was introduced from the bench in the 71st minute during the 4-2 home La Liga defeat against champions Barcelona on Sunday.
Ndukwe came through a trial spell during pre-season at Liverpool before a £2.6million move from Austria Vienna, which had been agreed in principle earlier in the year, was finalised.
Having impressed hugely during the summer friendlies, the youngster was initially unable to feature in a competitive fixture for Liverpool for the first half of the campaign due to work permit complications.
But his debut outing for Levante has immediately elevated him to the threshold required to secure a permit.
In any case, Liverpool will have an exemption spot available from February onwards that would allow Ndukwe to play, and have the option to recall the player in January from his spell at Levante should it be deemed appropriate.
Elsewhere, new Liverpool forward Djylian N'Guessan made his Ligue 1 debut for Brest on Sunday when playing for the final 12 minutes of the 1-0 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Reds agreed the £4.25m signing of N'Guessan from Saint-Etienne earlier this month, with the 18-year-old striker signing a pre-contract agreement that will see him become a Reds player in January.
He is spending the first half of the Ligue 1 campaign on loan at Brest, with Liverpool keen for him to gain further top-flight experience. N'Guessan's situation will be reviewed in the New Year when he officially becomes a Reds player.
