Mikel Arteta took his Premier League title winning side to play Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the late Saturday night game in round 4 of matches.
Arsenal had won their first 3 League games and were looking to put the pressure on Man City by winning their fourth match in a row and moving into a 3 point lead with 12 points ahead of the Manchester Derby on Sunday.
Bruno Guimaraes put Arsenal 1-0 up at the Stadium of Light with his 1st goal for the club on 58 minutes. The Brazilian midfielder scored from outside the box with a stunning strike just minutes after Raya had kept the score 0-0 by saving Sunderland’s penalty.
Bukayo Saka sealed it for Arsenal with an injury time penalty for the Gunners to win 2-0 in the end.
