In his press conference on Monday (the Green Bay Packers haven’t had one yet, if you’re wondering), Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said that he doesn’t believe that Packers safety Javon Bullard’s hit on quarterback Kyler Murray was dirty. According to reporter Andrew Siciliano, O’Connell described the hit as “violent and physical,” but O’Connell doesn’t “put any fault on anyone there.”
Meanwhile, ESPN’s Adam Schefter stated on Get Up that the Vikings are “not pleased” with the hit and the team believes the NFL “should have gone after [Bullard] during the game,” though there’s no suspension expected for the Packers’ starting nickel defender.
Right tackle Brian O’Neill seems to be thinking more along those lines than the words that came out of the head coach’s mouth, as he told ESPN’s Kevin Seifert, “I kind of wish I took a shot at [Bullard]” after a shove following the play.
We’ll link the play below so you can decide for yourself if it was dirty or not.
Murray left the game after going 3 of 5 for 18 yards and an interception. Backup quarterback Carson Wentz was 12 of 19 for 133 yards and three touchdowns (along with three sacks for 19 yards) in a comeback victory for the Vikings that saw Minnesota score 29 unanswered points to end the game.
