The Los Angeles Lakers might keep their well-known trade candidates entering the next 2026-27 NBA season.
Replying to a fan question on X (formerly Twitter), ClutchPoints insider Brett Siegel revealed that while the Lakers have been attempting to trade Jarred Vanderbilt and Dalton Knecht, any move remains uncertain in LA before the season starts.
Dalton Knecht, Jarred Vanderbilt remains Lakers' trade candidates
Dalton Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt are two of the most prominent trade names floated around the Los Angeles Lakers from last season up until this point in the offseason.
Knecht’s future in Los Angeles has been uncertain ever since the failed Mark Williams trade and his fallout of JJ Redick’s rotation during his second NBA season. Following a promising rookie campaign in which he averaged 9.1 points per game, Knecht saw his production drop to 4.2 points in just 10.2 minutes per game last year.
Vanderbilt, meanwhile, has continued to surface in trade discussions surrounding the Lakers. The veteran forward averaged 4.4 points and 4.5 rebounds over 65 games last season.

After Kuminga joined the Minnesota Timberwolves, NBA insider Jake Fischer revealed that the Lakers are still exploring trades for Dalton Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt to further address their wing depth.
Kuminga signed a two-year, $13 million deal with the Wolves, declining a much more lucrative offer in LA.
