Mahomes tore both the ACL and LCL in his left knee during a game in December 2025 and has been working to rehab it all offseason
Brittany Mahomes is loving her husband’s return to the field.
Brittany, 31, celebrated as her husband Patrick Mahomes scored a touchdown in the first quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener against the Denver Broncos on Monday, Sept. 14.
The mother of three was in the building at Arrowhead Stadium as her husband — who tore both the ACL and LCL in his left knee during a game in December 2025 — ran into the end zone for the Chiefs’ first touchdown of the season.
After Patrick, 30, scored the six points for Kansas City, Brittany took to Instagram to celebrate with Chiefs Nation. Brittany filmed the stadium’s reaction to Patrick’s touchdown and wrote, “HESSSSSS BACKKKKKKKK,” in a post on her Instagram Stories.

After that, she reposted several of the Chiefs’ graphics about Patrick’s touchdown to her Stories.
Before kickoff on Monday, Brittany found Patrick on the sidelines to share a kiss before he returned to action. SportsCenter shared a video of the sweet moment, captioned, “Family first.”
Brittany wrote, “My baby ❤️ ,” in the comments of the post.
Hours before kickoff, Brittany, who started dating the NFL star when they were in high school, shared her excitement for the new NFL season.
“I’m so ready for this! 😎🗣️💯🔥,” Brittany, 31, wrote on Instagram Stories before her husband made his return to the field.
Patrick missed the final weeks of the 2025-26 season after he tore both the ACL and LCL in his left knee during the closing moments of the Chiefs’ loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Dec. 14.
During Chiefs training camp, head coach Andy Reid said Patrick “spent his offseason here” in Kansas City. “He didn’t go anywhere. Seven hours a day, he was there working...and it pays off for him,” said Reid.
