Liverpool were kept scoreless for the first time in 10 games over the weekend, but their record at Anfield means a repeat is unlikely against Tottenham.
Not since April 2024 have Liverpool failed to score in successive Anfield games (Atalanta in Europe and Crystal Palace in the Premier League).
And not since February 2019 have the Reds played successive 0-0 games, then against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Man United in the league.
Tottenham’s recent goalscoring record may see them play their part in a goalless 90 minutes, but the Reds will need to find form in front of goal to aid Andoni Iraola.

Andoni Iraola is attempting to reach the final at his first attempt with the club, as did his predecessors Joe Fagan, Rafa Benitez, Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot.
His Bournemouth team were knocked out at the first hurdle of this competition in each of the last two seasons.
The Spaniard, meanwhile, has faced Tottenham six times since coming to England, all in the league, winning three and losing lose with one draw. He is unbeaten in the last four.
Competition debutants and Alisson misses out again
Since Alisson joined Liverpool in 2018, the club has played 28 times in the League Cup and the Brazilian ‘keeper has appeared in only two of those – and he’s confirmed to miss Tuesday’s game.
Of the current squad, Cody Gakpo, with 9, has scored more League Cup goals for Liverpool than any other player. He was the competition’s leading scorer in the 2024/25 season with five goals.
Possible League Cup debutants: Jeremy Jacquet, Florian Wirtz, Victor Munoz, Bradley Barcola, Ronald Araujo and Lewis Koumas.

Their last League Cup win at Anfield was in 1998 when Steffen Iversen, ex-Red John Scales and Allan Nielsen netted in a 3-1 win, which resulted in Roy Evans resigning as joint-manager.
Spurs’ last victory at Anfield, in any competition, came in May 2011 when they recorded a 2-0 league win. It is their only win in the last 30 visits.
They have kept three clean sheets in the last 33 Anfield visits in league and cup and none in any of the last 16 since a 0-0 draw in February 2012.
And goals have been hard to come by this season, having only scored in the League Cup – in the 5-1 win over Charlton in the last round. Not scored in 407 minutes of Premier League action.
