Wolves travel to Everton on Wednesday night as they look to make it through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Wolves’ form in the Championship has been somewhat inconsistent over the past few weeks. However, they head into their Carabao Cup fixture sitting 7th in the table and off the back of a win, having defeated Sheffield United courtesy of a late winner from Raul Jimenez on Sunday.
Wanderers welcomed Kieran Trippier back to action against the Blades. Fer Lopez has caught the eye so far this season, having been reintegrated into the side under Cesar Peixoto.

Questions have been asked about Everton’s prospects for the campaign with some fans dissatisfied about their transfer window. However, they are unbeaten so far in the Premier League and have proved solid once again under David Moyes, who was in attendance at Bramall Lane to watch Wolves on Sunday.
The Toffees played out a goalless draw with Tottenham Hotspur in their last game. They have drawn three on the trot in the league since beating Crystal Palace on the opening day.

“Wolves have largely performed well under Cesar Peixoto since his arrival. Peixoto has sparked life into some players, including Fer Lopez. However, frailties have remained in some areas, which is what is stopping them from keeping pace with the Championship’s top dogs at the moment.
“David Moyes often leads organised sides with defensive steel and that has been no different for Everton this season. With fairly limited squad depth though, tiredness may catch up on them. Despite this, they are often able to grind out results and should do so on Wednesday night.
“Wamderers have the quality to cause Everton issues and will definitely do so. However, the hosts are often able to gain a slender win and they will do so in this fixture.”

“Everton have started the season encouragingly with no defeats to date. They’ve been strong at the back as they always tend to be under Moyes and have some talented players throughout.
“A cup run wouldn’t go amiss on Merseyside, and the Toffees should fancy themselves in this one. That said, Wolves have dangerous players of their own and are not to be overlooked despite last year’s relegation.
“I think the difference will be in midfield though. Rotation is likely on both sides, but I do think that’s where these games between teams in different leagues are won and lost. The Toffees could make a change or two and still have a top player like Hayden Hackney in the starting XI.
“I don’t think it’ll be dominant, but Everton should progress here.”
