Liverpool are unbeaten under Andoni Iraola this season after five days and the Spaniard continues to make his mark at the club.
They have won just one Premier League game, though, which is a cause for concern.
However, after Arne Slot’s sacking, there was an acknowledgement that the forthcoming season would involve a transition.
One of Liverpool’s best players so far has been Jeremy Jacquet, with the Frenchman starting each of their five games this season across all competitions.
And now, L’Equipe report that he is in line for a France call-up under new boss Zinedine Zidane.
Liverpool defender Jeremy Jacquet in line for France call-up
France, much like Liverpool, are heading into a new era after Zidane replaced Didier Deschamps at the helm.
And ahead of the upcoming international break, the Liverpool defender has been named in his provisional France squad as he continues to re-evaluate his options.

Jacquet’s call-up isn’t really surprising as he has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water.
He has forged a fantastic relationship with Virgil van Dijk at the back and has also shown his ball-playing ability a handful of times for his new club.
With William Saliba unavailable, Zidane needs another top defender to marshal his backline alongside the usual suspects.
Jacquet’s inclusion in the France squad is further proof that Liverpool have signed one of the best central defensive talents on the planet.
