The Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets and New York Giants all made NFL history in Week 1 after securing victories in their opening games of the 2026 season.
The Cardinals, Raiders and Giants also gave their new head coaches winning starts in their first NFL games with their respective teams, adding another layer to an unusual opening weekend.
All four teams are 1-0 - the first time in NFL history they've all enjoyed a winning start, with the unusual start confirmed after the Giants beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. Jaxson Dart threw two touchdown passes to Isaiah Likely as the Giants secured a 28-20 victory over Dallas. Dart completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards and added 54 yards on the ground, while Isaiah Likely caught all eight of his targets for 78 yards in his Giants debut after joining New York from Baltimore.
No. 1 receiver Malik Nabers also made his return after recovering from a torn ACL in his right knee suffered almost a year ago. He caught six passes for 69 yards in his comeback.
Cam Skattebo was also returning from injury after breaking his right fibula and dislocating his right ankle. He rushed for 81 yards on 18 carries and brought back his trademark backflip celebration after running untouched into the end zone for the Giants' first points of the season.
The Raiders also opened the season with a victory, beating the Miami Dolphins 27-13 as their offensive line provided an encouraging early sign after struggling last season.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins was not sacked and was hit just twice on 30 pass attempts. Running back Ashton Jeanty finished with 102 yards on 23 carries, while rookie Mike Washington Jr. added 41 yards on seven carries.
The Cardinals also produced one of the biggest surprises of Week 1, beating the Los Angeles Chargers 26-14 to give first-year head coach Mike LaFleur a winning debut.
LaFleur became the first Cardinals full-time head coach to win his debut since Don Coryell in 1973. Arizona entered the game as 8.5-point underdogs, according to DraftKings, making it the NFL's biggest Week 1 upset since Tampa Bay beat New Orleans as 10-point underdogs in 2018.
The victory was also Arizona's biggest upset since Week 17 of the 2023 season, when the Cardinals defeated the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Jets completed the unusual group of Week 1 winners with a 23-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium, giving first-year head coach Aaron Glenn a winning debut.
Coming off a 3-14 season in 2025, the Jets avoided an early setback against the Titans, who are coached by former New York head coach Robert Saleh. Saleh was fired by Jets owner Woody Johnson after five games in the 2024 season before taking over in Tennessee.
