Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are the stories you need as the Giants get to face off against the Los Angeles Rams in primetime.
How the Giants ‘broke’ Cowboys in the fourth quarter: ‘They were ready to go home’ | New York Post
At the end of the day, Big Blue wasn’t “tired” as right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor said. Dallas sure was.
“At the end of the fourth quarter, they had to huddle up. When you see a team huddle up, that’s when you know you are breaking them,” Eluemunor said following the Giants’ 28-20 win over the Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football” at MetLife Stadium. “I can’t tell you how many times they rotated their D-line. They just broke in the fourth quarter. We could’ve played another two or three quarters. They were ready to go home.”

Should the Giants be taken seriously in the NFC East? This was a statement game for the John Harbaugh Giants. They looked like the better team in beating a Cowboys squad that had prevailed in 16 of its previous 18 meetings with the Giants. New York’s offense looked dangerous with a power running game (165 yards) led by Cam Skattebo (18 carries, 81 yards), and quarterback Jaxson Dart was in command throughout. The defense also looked greatly improved. With neither the Eagles nor Commanders looking dominant in Week1, the Giants could be a real threat in the NFC East. For the first time in years, it’s not an outlandish thought.

New York Giants: A-. For the first time in more than 10 years, the Giants might actually have a head coach who can get them to the promised land. This was only one game, but John Harbaugh has already turned this team around. The Giants looked more prepared than Dallas and they were definitely more physical: Harbaugh’s team bullied the Cowboys in the trenches. Led by Cam Skattebo, the Giants’ offense totaled 165 yards on the ground, and it was even better through the air with Jaxson Dart throwing for 230 yards and three touchdowns. A new era of football has arrived in New York and Giants fans should be feeling really good about the future of this team.
John Harbaugh used his father to motivate the Giants. It was his best call of the week | The Athletic
John Harbaugh asked his father to speak to the New York Giants on the night before his grand debut. Jack Harbaugh explained that during a 1967 fight in the Houston Astrodome, Ali battered heavyweight champ Ernie Terrell, who had repeatedly referred to Ali by his birth name, Cassius Clay. “What’s my name?” Ali had shouted at Terrell in the ring.
“So I talked to the players about respect,” Jack Harbaugh said. “You can’t ask for it, you can’t pray for it, and you can’t expect it. You’ve got to reach out and you’ve got to demand it. … When you line up over a guy, you’ve got to look him in his eye and say, ‘What’s my name? You’re going to respect me before this is all over’.”
In first game with Giants, John Harbaugh delivers statement win: ‘We’re on our way’ | SNY.tv
It was a Sunday night statement for a franchise embarrassed and embattled for the better part of a decade. The Giants are here. And with those two as the pillars of their organization, they won’t be going anywhere. “We’re on our way,” Harbaugh said.
The Giants’ locker room was subdued by victory standards — a testament to the culture Harbaugh is trying to instill. Players were happy and joking, more talkative than usual, but it was not some rowdy frat party. There was a reason for that, Brian Burns said. This was only one win. “Act like you’ve been there before,” he added.

How John Harbaugh sets the standard, Jaxson Dart the ceiling for Giants | The Record
Jaxson Dart was everything all of his critics said he would never be Sunday night, and the quarterback of the New York Giants shattered that narrative during a defining victory over the Dallas Cowboys. He can’t play in the pocket, they cried. Not a talented enough passer. Injury prone. Celebrity QB.
What anyone paying attention to these Giants has known for a while now is that Dart establishes the ceiling. He is to John Harbaugh what Eli Manning was for Tom Coughlin, what Phil Simms was for Bill Parcells.

Jaxson Dart, New York Giants: Grade: A+. Dart’s performance during Sunday Night Football against the rival Dallas Cowboys was nearly flawless, which portends bigger and better things for the quarterback and his team. “For him to have all this on his plate and to execute the way he did, to me, was just tremendous and very impressive,” Harbaugh told reporters. “It was a great performance by Jaxson.”
Dart added, “I felt very comfortable. I thought that we just did a really good job of staying in progress throughout the game. I thought (offensive coordinator Matt Nagy) called an awesome game, and I thought the guys just played really, really hard. So it made my job a lot easier, and guys all over the place made a ton of plays, so I’m excited about that.”
