Arteta could start Max Dowman at Portman Road

**Mikel Arteta** promises more minutes will come for **Max Dowman** this campaign.

**Arsenal** are flying at the start of the season. They have won all four of their **Premier League** fixtures against **Coventry City**, **Aston Villa**, **Chelsea** and **Sunderland** as well as the **Champions League** clash with **Napoli** and the **Community Shield** against **Manchester City**. As standards stay high at the **Emirates Stadium**, certain players are having to be patient and wait for their opportunity to play.

· **‘We know the talent that we have’**

---------------------------------------

One of those individuals is **Max Dowman**, who is still somehow only 16 years of age— turning 17 at the end of December. Last season, he became the second youngest **Premier League** everdebutant to only **Ethan Nwaneri** against **Leeds United** in a 5-0 win in August, the youngest ever **Champions League** debutant against **Slavia Prague** in November, and the youngest ever **Premier League** goal scorer as he settled the score against **Everton** in March with a breakaway strike during stoppage time.

He was also the youngest player to start a game in the history of the _Gunners_ when they beat **Brighton** 2-0 in the **Carabao Cup** fourth round in October last year. As the third round of the competition awaits against **Ipswich Town**, it would not be a surprise to see him in the lineup.

_"We'll look at the players' eyes and they will say they want to play, and ‘I want to win a game, and I want to improve._

_“They will review the \[_**_Sunderland_**_\] game, and they will be willing for more because I know the boys._

_"\[Max\] will have his chance. He will have his minutes, and he will have to earn them like anybody else. We know the talent that we have, we know the players that we have there, and we need to help him and find a way to make sure that he continues to develop and help the team."_
