Joao Pedro, Reece James and Moises Caicedo all missed the first part of Chelsea's training session on Tuesday ahead of this week's trip to Brentford.

As per Sky Sports News, who had access to the first 15 minutes of the Blues' Tuesday session, Xabi Alonso was without Joao Pedro, James and Caicedo.

There was a boost for Alonso, though, with Marco Palestra and Jordan Henderson both involved with their teammates at the club's training base in Cobham. Both Palestra and Henderson are yet to feature for Chelsea since signing in the summer transfer window due to quad and arm injuries, respectively, but are closing in on their competitive debuts.

Supporters online are concerned, however, that there could be injuries for Joao Pedro and James. The former has been one of Chelsea's standout performers in the opening exchanges of the season, scoring his third Premier League goal of the campaign in Saturday afternoon's 2-2 draw with Hull City at Stamford Bridge.

James has been virtually an ever-present figure in the Chelsea side this term as well. While we await to see if the Blues captain has picked up an issue, it is worth noting that the England international has used a different recovery programme to some of his colleagues in recent seasons due to his injury record.

As for Caicedo, there was some hope that he would make his second appearance of the season away at Brentford on Friday evening. The Ecuador international has been missing since his cameo appearance against Brighton towards the end of last month, where he limped off after aggrevating a calf problem he suffered a couple of weeks prior.

We should hear more on the trio when Alonso takes his press conference later in the week before Chelsea's trip to the Gtech Community Stadium. All three, though, are crucial players for the Blues manager, who will be desperate for his side to return to winning ways in the Premier League before the first international break of the new season.
