Liverpool haven’t set the world alight under Andoni Iraola across all competitions so far.
They are still unbeaten and recently recorded a 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
However, they are still very much a work in progress as they continue to get to grips with what the new manager wants.
A lot has been said about Florian Wirtz this season as the German international continues to garner a lot of attention for his performances.
And Paul Merson feels he is running out of time to prove his worth after his record-breaking move to Anfield last summer.

Merson told Sky Sports: “I don’t know how long they can wait on Florian Wirtz.
“I’m a big fan of him; I think he’s a special player. But it isn’t working; it just isn’t working. I don’t know how long they can wait.”
A number 10 needs relationships on a football pitch to flourish, Liverpool currently have a new look attack that isn’t on the same wavelength, Wirtz won’t flourish until they all are on the same page and that’s the reality.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man has exclusively featured as a No.10 this season. He has shown flashes of his brilliance – as was the case last season – but hasn’t been able to deliver the goods consistently.
Much like the rest of the squad, Wirtz needs time to learn Iraola’s methods, but he needs to come good this season to avoid being written off for good.
