The 2026-27 NBA season is quickly approaching.
The [Boston Celtics](https://nesn.com/boston-celtics) will open training camp on Sept. 29 to prepare for the upcoming season. They'll then have about three weeks to finalize their roster before Opening Night.
It's been a transformative offseason for the Celtics, who traded Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers and added Paul George and Mitchell Robinson.

NBA teams can carry 15 players on standard contracts and three players on two-way contracts.
The Celtics currently have 14 players on standard contracts and two players on two-way contracts. Additionally, they have four players — Devin Carter, Tucker DeVries, Milos Uzan, Caleb Grill — on Exhibit 10 deals who will compete for final roster and two-way spots in training camp.
There's been plenty of debate following the Brown trade over who will start for the Celtics. Some think Payton Pritchard will come off the bench again, moving Derrick White to point guard and one of Baylor Scheierman or Hugo Gonzalez to shooting guard. Then there's the question of whether Neemias Queta or Mitchell Robinson will be the backup center.
