Mitchell Robinson deciding to leave the New York Knicks came as somewhat of a surprise, even if it was expected. The Knicks' ownership came out and suggested they weren't going to pay Robinson or deal with the consequences that could come from second-apron situations.
After winning a championship, that didn't seem like the right move, but the [Boston Celtics](https://nesn.com/boston-celtics) benefited from it, and it should be viewed as a positive up in Boston.
As for how Robinson feels now, it seems like he has a lot he wants to show. He's always been somewhat outspoken, but he's said some intriguing things since joining the Celtics. Recently, on Instagram Live, he said he surprised one of his Celtics coaches by showing him how good he was. He was shooting, finishing around the rim, and even showed off some ball-handling skills.
"Was working out with my coach in Boston. You know what he said? He didn't know that I had the sh\*t that I showed tonight. The ball handling, the shooting, the touch. Right now, I'm just so confident in myself," Robinson said on social media.
Now, I think it's important to say that we've all seen videos of Robinson shooting at a high level in offseason runs.
While that hasn't necessarily translated to the NBA, I'm curious to see if Joe Mazzulla can get something out of it.
Even if he becomes a guy who just makes his free throws, that would be a big-time step in the right direction and would, as crazy as it might sound, make the Celtics look very smart for signing him.
