Andoni Iraola has hinted Liverpool could be active in the January transfer window if he is unable to get his side firing.
The Reds have made a mixed start to the season, with Iraola still unbeaten after his first five competitive games in charge, although his team hasn’t been all that convincing so far.
Liverpool has drawn three of those games, taking just six points from the opening four Premier League outings, with Saturday’s dismal goalless draw at home to Fulham bringing the club’s fans back down to earth after encouraging victories over Ipswich and Atletico Madrid just days before.
Questions continue to be raised about the makeup of Iraola’s squad, with Liverpool having a surplus of wingers who specialize on the left-hand side but no clear replacement for Mohamed Salah on the right.
Likewise, the club did not add to its options in midfield or at full-back, both of which have proven to be problem areas during the early stages of the season.
Iraola though is keen not to dwell on the summer window, and wants to see whether he can get more out of his current crop before reassessing the situation in the New Year.

“I think now is not a moment to look backwards to the market,” Iraola told Sky Sports.
“When the January market opens, we will see where we are. We have very good players and a good squad. We need to find the balance and the right combinations so everyone can look even better than the player he is.
"If we are not well drilled, the timings are not there, then everyone looks worse. Everyone has to add a little bit."
Iraola has just two more games before his players head out on international duty, starting with the Carabao Cup third round tie against Tottenham on Tuesday.

He then takes his side to his old stomping ground as Liverpool takes on Bournemouth on Sunday, with the Cherries yet to pick up a win this season.
Liverpool.com says: Already at this stage, it looks like Liverpool should have been busier than it was in the summer window. Clearly, the signing of Bradley Barcola was the priority, but that feels as though it has come to the detriment of other areas.
Hopefully Iraola can get a tune out of this squad before January, when there will be the opportunity to make some additions if needed.
It will take time for him to properly get to grips with the job at hand, and hopefully no one starts to get on his back if results aren’t going the right way. He can only work with what he’s been dealt, and at the moment, his squad doesn’t look all that great in truth.
