Overall, Chelsea had a pretty good transfer window. They brought in some talented players and also managed to offload footballers they no longer wanted.
Morgan Rogers is already proving to be a huge success, scoring in all but one of Chelsea’s four Premier League games so far this season.
With all of that being said, there is no denying that deadline day was an absolute disaster for the club.

Xhaka would have been a great fit!! Already played under Alonso and can still play high level football, could use him quite frequently as well
Easily the best of the lot. Been watching more of him since we've been linked and he really looks like a player that will help the team as compared to a Kamara profile or Kone
Chelsea ‘annoyed’ they didn’t sign a midfielder
Chelsea were interested in signing Manu Kone and Lamine Camara but failed to land either in the end.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, the club’s failure to sign a midfielder has left everyone “annoyed”.
Speaking on the SPTC Podcast, he said: “I would like to know [Xabi] Alonso’s true thoughts as well, like whether he believes that there’s something missing. He must do. He must do. He’s not stupid.
“And I know the whole club were very annoyed about not getting a midfielder or disappointed that they didn’t get Camara and they didn’t get a midfielder, but that’s only on them. They shouldn’t have left it so late. They knew Enzo [Fernandez] was going all along, so it should have been handled better and sorted out much sooner.”

Had Chelsea managed to keep hold of Fernandez, it would not have been too much of a problem. But they allowed the Argentine to join Manchester City without having secured a replacement.
Camara was set to join Chelsea until AS Monaco performed one of the craziest U-turns ever seen on deadline day and informed their English counterparts that the 22-year-old would no longer be allowed to sign for them.
Chelsea only have themselves to blame for midfielder failure
What happened with Monaco was appalling. It was very unprofessional, but why were Chelsea trying to sign a midfielder on deadline day when they knew about Fernandez’s intention to leave since last season?
The Blues always had an asking price that they were willing to accept. They knew there was always a possibility that he could leave but were reactive instead of proactive.
Chelsea needed to sell Fernandez earlier in the window and replace him then or stick to the deadline they gave City. Ultimately, Chelsea can be annoyed, but the only one they can blame is themselves.
BlueCo need to learn from this, but can you trust them to? Probably not. Summer after summer, even when they do something good, they end up doing the polar opposite afterwards.
