Ipswich vs Arsenal LIVE
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal embark on their new Carabao Cup campaign tonight, visiting Ipswich in the third round. Last season’s attempt at this competition ended in heartbreaking fashion for the Gunners as they rolled over in the final, suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City. They have finished as runners-up in this competition four times in the past 20 years, but will hope to break their duck and finally get over the line this season.
Arsenal head north-east to Ipswich having made an unbeaten start to the new season, a streak they will fully expect to continue at Portman Road. The Tractor Boys are back in the Premier League this season after a year back in the Championship and sit firmly mid-table after four matches, having chalked up two wins and two defeats.
Gary O’Neil’s men have pulled off some impressive results but have lost two meetings with big six teams by an aggregate score of 7-2. They will have their work cut out for them under the lights in Suffolk this evening.
