Paul George was confronted with an undesirable truth during his introductory Celtics presser on Tuesday: there are many Boston fans who aren't too enthused about his arrival.
At one point in his career, George's introduction would command plenty of interest. A nine-time All-Star, six-time All-NBA selection and former MVP contender getting paid more than $50 million a season rarely spurns the spotlight, even in his waning years.
George is not your average superstar at this stage in his career, though. His acquisition came at a cost; the Celtics were forced to deal Jaylen Brown to the rival 76ers. Many would have hoped Brown's inclusion in the trade package would net Boston a greater return.
George spoke with reporters about his feelings on Celtics fans' apathy regarding his impending arrival. His general sentiments: no hard feelings.

Paul George Understands Frustration With Jaylen Brown Trade

George was sympathetic with some Celtics fans' assessment that Boston got the raw end of Brown trade.
"No personal feelings towards the initial you know how it received here in Boston," George said. "To be honest it's fair.
"Hopefully, with how we start this year, they understand it's a new, you know, a new team and something that they can be proud of."
