Arsenal-bound forward Joseph confirms departure from Liverpool after nine years

Vincent Joseph has taken to social media to confirm that he has ended his nine-year association with Liverpool.

The 16-year-old forward will continue his development at Premier League champions Arsenal, with official confirmation of the transfer now the only remaining formality.

Joseph turned down a scholarship offer from Liverpool in favour of joining Arsenal, where he is expected to sign a two-year scholarship deal with the option of turning professional when he turns 17.

In his final season as a schoolboy, Joseph made two appearances in the U18 Premier League, scoring three goals.

He found the net against Sunderland before bagging a brace in Arsenal's thrilling 4-3 victory over Nottingham Forest U18s.

Writing on Instagram, Joseph posted: "After 9 unforgettable years, the time has come to say goodbye. Thank you for the memories, and for making my time here truly special."

Joseph is eligible to represent Nigeria, England and Germany at international level.

He has already showcased his goalscoring ability for England's U16s, netting an impressive eight goals in nine appearances for the Young Lions last season.

Vincent is the younger brother of Valentin Joseph, who left Blackburn Rovers for Brighton & Hove Albion during the summer transfer window.
