City at the Rlcs 2026 World Championships: All you need to know

Man City Esports will be competing in the RLCS World Championships for the first-time ever this week.

After positive performances in the Boston Open, the organisation’s debut outing in the professional Rocket League scene, the Paris Open and RLCS Paris Major, City placed fifth in the EU rankings to secure our spot in the RLCS 2026 World Championships.

Ahead of our trip to Fort Worth, United States, Ejby, Accro and Seikoo have been hard at work with preparing for the major competition.

In the build-up to our first game in the Group Stage, here is everything you need to know about the format of the World Championships…

GROUP STAGE

The 16 best teams in the world will be split into four groups in which they will compete in a single round robin.

All matches are best of five, with the winner of each group to progress to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs.

Teams who place second and third of each group will advance to the Lower Bracket of the Playoffs.

Those who finish bottom of the groups will be eliminated from the competition.

PLAYOFFS

City will be determined to progress to the Playoffs.

If we are successful, our fixtures will be determined based on our group placement.

Advancing to the Upper Bracket automatically would place us through to the quarter-finals, meaning we would need to win three best of seven match-ups to lift the prestigious title.

If we place in the Lower Bracket, five games stand between us and the trophy.

WHERE TO WATCH

Updates on our Group Stage matches and our progression throughout the competition will be available on our social media channels: @ManCityEsports.

The matches will also be available to watch live on Twitch: @RocketLeague.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Accro, Ejby and Seikoo the very best of luck in the competition.
