Chelsea will discover their opponents for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup when the draw is made on Wednesday night.
Xabi Alonso’s side booked their place in round four last week, courtesy of a stunning 6-3 comeback win over Premier League rivals Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues had fallen 2-0 down against the Whites, before Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers inspired an impressive comeback.
Next up for Alonso’s side is a visit to west London neighbours Brentford, but ahead of that game it has emerged that the Blues are chasing a young star from one of their biggest rivals.
As per TEAMtalk, Chelsea are currently leading the race to sign Manchester United teenager JJ Gabriel, after the youngster decided he wants to leave the Red Devils.

Gabriel, 15, is currently part of United’s academy but the report suggests that the youngster has informed his current club that he wishes to depart.
The teenager – who operates centrally as either a striker or attacking midfielder – has represented Manchester United Under-18s, scoring a staggering 29 goals in 32 appearances for the side.
Last week he netted a hat-trick for United’s Under-18s in the UEFA Youth League, but the report claims that the player has now decided that he wishes to leave the club.
The player is said to have formally submitted a request for de-registration, meaning he wants to be released from his current agreement with United.
Chelsea are said to have moved quickly and are currently leading the race to land the attacker.
While the Blues did sign a number of experienced players during the recent summer transfer window, the west London outfit have adopted a policy of signing talented young players from across the globe since being taken over by their current owners four years ago, and Gabriel would fit into that policy.
