Wycombe secured back-to-back victories for the first time since February and March with a 2-1 win over Chelsea U21s in the EFL Trophy.
Fresh from claiming their first league victory of the season against Leyton Orient on Saturday, interim head coach Tom Hounsell maintained his impressive start in charge as Wanderers overcame the young Blues side at Adams Park.
The first half was a subdued affair, with both teams enjoying possession but creating little of note.
The Chairboys came closest to breaking the deadlock when Dan Casey rose highest to meet a Luke Leahy corner, only to see his header skim over the crossbar.
The game came to life after the interval as both sides began to find more space and attack with greater intent.
Emre Tezgel tested Toby Bell with a smart save shortly after the restart, while Chelsea's best opportunities fell to Jashayde Greenwood.
The young forward first forced Mikki van Sas into an excellent low stop before being presented with an even better chance on 52 minutes.
A mistake from Casey allowed Greenwood through on goal, but the Wycombe goalkeeper stood tall and produced another crucial save in a one-on-one situation.
Chelsea were left to rue those missed opportunities as Wanderers took control of the contest.
With 25 minutes remaining, Aaron Morley's cross was brilliantly kept alive by Casey at the back post, allowing the ball to fall kindly for Mohamed Keita, who fired home first time for his first senior goal.
Wycombe doubled their advantage in the closing stages when substitute Caolan Boyd-Munce curled a composed finish beyond Bell to make it 2-0.
Harrison Bettoni pulled a goal back deep into stoppage time, but it proved nothing more than a consolation as the Chairboys held on comfortably.
The victory marked the first time Wycombe had won successive matches since back-to-back triumphs over Burton Albion and Barnsley on February 28 and March 3 respectively.
Attention now turns back to League One action, with Wanderers travelling to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
