Mikel Arteta’s plans for Noni Madueke are turning into one of the biggest talking points inside the club this month, and the pressure is building fast on Arsenal to make a clear call. Now, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have been keeping a close eye on the winger, as per latest transfer news. Both sides are hoping his limited game-time could open a path for a temporary switch away from the Emirates stadium.
Noni Madueke on radar of Atletico & Juve
Madueke joined Arsenal from Chelsea last year in July, and expectations were high that he would add real spark to the attack. But the winger has found regular football hard to come by this season. The reason is that competition for places in the final third has been fierce. Arteta has options all over the pitch.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have both discussed the possibility of a January move involving the winger. The move will most likely be structured as a loan with an option to buy.
Diego Simeone’s side are said to see Madueke as someone who could bring pace and directness that their current setup lacks. Meanwhile, Juve are said to admire his ability to beat a full-back in a straight duel and stretch defences from wide areas.
Madueke’s limited game time
Madueke made 25 appearances in the Premier League last season, playing 1,134 minutes while scoring two goals and providing one assist. Those figures show a player who has been involved fairly often in squad terms. But, many of those outings have come from the bench rather than as a regular starter.
Madueke’s 2025/26 stats at Arsenal, as per FOTMOB:
Competitions Matches Goals Assists Chances Created
Premier League 26 3 1 22
FA Cup 4 2 2 13
EFL Cup 3 0 0 3
Champions League 10 3 0 7
His most recent league appearance saw him play just one minute during a 2-1 win over Chelsea a week ago. This shows exactly the kind of limited involvement that has fed transfer talk. For a player who joined the Gunners hoping to become a first choice option, brief cameos rather than full game performances can start to feel frustrating, especially when rivals abroad are openly showing interest.
In the 2024/25 season at Chelsea, Madueke played 32 league games, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. These numbers show what he can produce when trusted with a settled role.

Gunners to sell Madueke during the next transfer window?
Arsenal find themselves in a tricky spot. Selling Madueke permanently in January would make little sense. In addition, he only signed a contract running until 2030 and the club paid a considerable fee for him barely a year ago. Losing him for good this early would look like a rushed decision, especially with the club competing on multiple fronts and needing squad depth rather than fewer options.
A short term loan, though, feels far more realistic. It would let Madueke rebuild his sharpness and confidence elsewhere. In the meantime, Arteta’s side can keep their long term investment intact for future seasons. He still offers something different from the rest of the attacking group at Arsenal. That is exactly why the club may be reluctant to let him leave even temporarily.
Unless his playing time increases in the coming weeks, though, interest from Atletico Madrid and Juventus looks unlikely to fade quietly. With that, the north London side may soon be forced to make a decision.
