It has been a mixed start to the season for Liverpool, who remain unbeaten under Andoni Iraola but have shown areas for improvement.
The Reds have won two of their first five games, drawing the other three, with victories over Ipswich and Atletico Madrid providing encouraging signs.

However, a disappointing goalless draw with Fulham at the weekend highlighted some of their weaknesses. Liverpool spent heavily in the summer, with Bradley Barcola completing his move to Anfield, but not every problem position was addressed.
Reports suggest the club could look to strengthen again in January. Andoni Iraola says he will reassess his Liverpool squad in the January transfer window after being reluctant to comment on whether the club needed another midfielder this summer.
Iraola told Sky Sports: “I think now is not a moment to look backwards to the market. When the January market opens, we will see where we are. We have very good players and a very good squad.
“We need to find the balance and the right combinations so everyone can look even better than the player he is. If we are not well drilled, the timings are not there, then everyone looks worse. Everyone has to add a little bit.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool striker Vincent Joseph has officially bid farewell to the club ahead of his expected move to Arsenal.
Joseph, who has scored eight goals in nine appearances for England U16s and featured for Liverpool U18s, did not sign scholarship terms with the Reds this summer after his schoolboy registration expired.
Joseph also netted twice in three appearances for Liverpool U18s. He graduated from the Under-16s last season and scored on his Under-18s debut in a 4-3 defeat to Sunderland in March.
Joseph followed that with a brace in Liverpool’s next Under-18 Premier League North fixture against Nottingham Forest. He spent nine years at Liverpool’s academy.
His move reflects Arsenal’s continued focus on recruiting promising young talent. The Gunners are targeting players they believe can eventually break into the first team or generate future transfer revenue.
The 16-year–old posted on his Instagram: “After 9 unforgettable years, the time has come to say goodbye. Thank you for the memories, and for making my time here truly special. @liverpoolfc YNWA.”
