Mikel Arteta faces the press after his Arsenal side's clash with Ipswich Town
Mikel Arteta is set to face the media after his Arsenal side cruised through to the fourth round of the League Cup with a big win over Ipswich Town
The Gunners were in control for the vast majority of the game despite their significant rotation of the squad, giving opportunities to several youngsters. Max Dowman stole all the headlines, scoring twice to become the second 16-year-old to score two goals in a game for a Premier League side in all competitions, after Wayne Rooney in October 2002 for Everton against Wrexham, also in the League Cup.
Considering that five Arsenal defenders missed the game through injury, which Arteta could be asked on, to show the depth and quality of the younger players was very impressive. Theo Julienne and Ide Ibrahim even came on for their senior competitive debuts.

Arsenal player ratings vs Ipswich Town as Max Dowman dazzles but 3/10 fails audition
Arsenal soared past Ipswich Town in style and scored for fun for the second game running at Portman Road.
The Gunners took the lead early in the game, Max Dowman finding the net at the age of just 16 years old after shimmying his way through and into the box before scoring. Not long after they doubled the lead, pressure on goalkeeper Christian Walton led to a mistake, which Mikel Merino helped capitalise on for Noni Madueke to score.
Dowman’s second came early in the second half, slotting in coolly after being fed in one-on-one inside the box. Merino then added his first of the season, curling a shot in off the post from the edge of the box.
Anis Mehmeti pulled a goal back to give the home side something to cheer about and Mikel Arteta a defensive question mark to analyse. The Gunners progress to the fourth round once again, with the draw set to take place on Wednesday.
