**Liverpool made it through to the next round of the Carabao Cup as they secured a deserved 3-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.**
Alexis Mac Allister broke the deadlock and Cody Gakpo added another in the second half before Conor Gallagher set up a nervous finale with a close-range finish.
And just when it looked like Spurs would claw their way back, Dom Szoboszlai settled the tie with a fantastic long-range effort.
The Hungarian came on as a substitute to seal the game in Liverpool’s favour, and Michael Brown feels his goal reminded him of a certain Steven Gerrard.
Szoboszlai took just one touch to steady himself and launched a fierce hit that found its way into the back of the net.
“Unbelievable strike, it just drops down and you know Szoboszlai’s got the audacity and the quality,” said Brown via the BBC.
