Tosin Adarabioyo made his full debut for Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night as Spurs suffered a 3-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool, following his move from Chelsea.
Chelsea fans might be frustrated after watching their side fail to beat Hull on Saturday, but it could be a lot worse. Xabi Alonso has guided his side to four wins in six, while Spurs have won just once all season.
Their only win came in the previous round of the Carabao Cup against Charlton. Four games and no goals in the Premier League so far, manager Roberto De Zerbi is under enormous pressure in North London.
On Tuesday night, he gave Tosin his full debut after the defender completed a £12m move to Spurs in the summer. Tosin had made his debut on Saturday as a late sub during Spurs’ 0-0 draw against Everton.

Tottenham fans left impressed by Tosin despite 3-1 Liverpool loss
Spurs were knocked out by Andoni Iraola’s struggling Liverpool, as Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai got the goals. Spurs did finally score their first goal against a Premier League side.
But Conor Gallagher’s effort wasn’t enough for Spurs, as Tosin failed to make the difference. However, Spurs fans have praised their summer signing from Chelsea – many feel he was one of the few positives.

“Pleasantly surprised by Tosin”, was the reaction of one supporter on social media. He continued to say that Tosin “looked very good” at the back despite Spurs conceding three. Another said: “Our best player.”
Marcos Senesi was strongly linked with Chelsea before moving to Spurs, and yet one fan believes Tosin “is better than Senesi”, which will surprise Blues fans. One even said he is a “better footballer than Gallagher”.
“Been impressed with Tosin; looks comfortable and physically a unit,” was the reaction of another Spurs follower. One even said: “Tosin is such an upgrade on Danso. Incredible on the ball; passes are elite.”
Xabi Alonso actually wanted to keep Tosin during the summer
Reports indicated at one stage that Alonso wanted to keep the defender at Chelsea. The gaffer felt his leadership would be important for the dressing room, even if the former Fulham man might not play.
Ultimately, Chelsea then signed players like Danny Welbeck, Jordan Henderson and Emi Martinez, and the need for his experience dwindled. He joined Spurs, with De Zerbi’s side also bringing in Mykhailo Mudryk.
It is nice to see Tosin start well for Spurs, even when the North Londoners have made a dismal start to the campaign. Some Spurs fans would like to see Tosin start on the weekend, when Spurs take on Villa.
