Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer has been full of praise for one midfielder who the club made an attempt to sign during the summer.
The Blues are currently short of options in the middle of the park following Enzo Fernandez’s deadline day move to Manchester City and Moises Caicedo’s ongoing injury woes.
There is some relief that Jordan Henderson may be fit enough to face Brentford in the West London derby on Friday evening, however, the veteran is not a long-term option for the role.
It’s time to talk about our midfield situation… who’s getting your vote?

After what should have been construed as a harmless comment about living not playing in Madrid, he was suspended by an inexperienced coach and then booed by his own fans, don't blame him for wanting out. Please read the article by John Terry on his youtube for the true story.
There’s a difference between not knowing how good he is and not liking that he was begging to leave…
Cole Palmer raves about Chelsea transfer target Adam Wharton
Chelsea’s number one target over the summer was reportedly Adam Wharton, however he remained a Crystal Palace player when the window slammed shut.
This will certainly not put the club off trying to make a move in the future for him, and if they do, they will have the seal of approval from Palmer.
While streaming on his Twitch channel, the England man was full of praise for his international teammate, saying: “Wharton, what a player man. What a player. Should have every single passing playstyle.”
Palmer was reacting to the midfielder’s player card on FC 27, with playstyles such as ‘incisive pass’ and ‘technical’ indicating an area the player excels in.

Chelsea want Premier League experience in their squad
Wharton has been praised by a number of top Premier League players, including Declan Rice who described him as ‘outstanding’ when he broke into the national team setup.
Chelsea are certainly going to try and sign a new midfielder when the window opens in January again after the attempted deal to bring in Lamine Camara fell through in the final moments.
The additions of the likes of Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix and Danny Welbeck have all been made with Premier League experience in mind, and it can be expected that they will look to do the same for when it comes to a new midfielder too.
Chelsea have maintained an excellent relationship with Crystal Palace. After signing Lacroix, they gave their London rivals Axel Disasi, was also allowing them a season of Honest Ahanour on loan before he officially moves to Stamford Bridge.
