Arsenal defender Gabriel officially does not need to consider himself lucky.
Gabriel ran the risk of a red card when his boot connected with goalkeeper Emi Martinez's face in the early stages of Arsenal's 2-1 win over Chelsea on September 6.

The Brazilian's challenge ignited Chelsea's fury
Martinez required medical treatment following the challenge but Gabriel escaped punishment from referee Chris Kavanagh and following a VAR check.
What was the Key Match Incident panel's official verdict?
The Key Match Incident panel has now backed up the verdict from the match, with all five members voting that it was the correct call.
"The panel unanimously supported the referee's call of no red card," the panel commentary said.
"Multiple players were on the ground competing and challenging for the loose ball, and the action of Gabriel was not deemed to be an act of violent conduct or serious foul play."
What is Gabriel's disciplinary record with Arsenal?
Had Gabriel been sent off, it would have been the first time he'd been shown a straight red card for Arsenal.
The Brazilian has previously been given his marching orders twice for the Gunners in 265 appearancs for the club.
He has also been shown 32 yellow cards following his arrival from Lille in 2020.
Both of his dismissals came as second yellows cards after earlier being cautioned.

How Arsenal's win over Chelsea unfolded
Gabriel's mistimed challenge on Martinez came just minutes after Morgan Rogers handed Chelsea an early lead at the Emirates Stadium.
But Chelsea weren't even ahead for a whole half as Kai Havertz struck before the interval to level the score.

Gunners skipper Martin Odegaard completed the comeback in the second half, handing Chelsea their only Premier League defeat this term.
Although Gabriel got off scot-free with his incident against Chelsea, his central defensive partner Ezri Konsa had no such luck during Arsenal's win over Sunderland last Saturday.
Konsa, who joined Arsenal this summer from Aston Villa, was adjudged to have hauled down Black Cats defender Dan Ballard to the ground while Kevin Danso's long throw got hurled into the box.
Luckily for Konsa, he was bailed out by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya who perfectly read where Sunderland's Enzo Le Fee would direct his spot kick.
However, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was left furious that a penalty was even awared in the first place.
"I think everybody can see it [is not a foul] and it's not acceptable at this level and I'm very, very worried," Arteta told talkSPORT following the match.
Arteta continued: "It's not soft, it's a judo roll, what he does on our player is never a penalty from every angle, I watched it ten times.
"That's why we have all the cameras and this cannot happen, it changes the momentum of the season, the course of the championship at this level, it cannot happen."
