Joao Pedro has enjoyed an excellent start to the 2026/27 season for Chelsea, however it is one of his attacking teammates he believes can do ‘everything’ on the pitch.
Pedro was named the August Player of the Month for the Premier League, contributing to four goals in his first two games. He would go on to add to that tally with a goal and assist in the 2-2 draw with Hull City.
The Brazil international has enjoyed being recalled to the international setup after being left out of the World Cup squad, however this has only come from his excellent work as part of the front three at Stamford Bridge.

Joao Pedro raves about ‘special’ Cole Palmer
Pedro and Cole Palmer have carried their excellent relationship on the pitch from last season into the current campaign, and the striker has been full of praise for his teammate’s start to the season.
He told Men in Blazers that Palmer can do ‘everything’, and has the ability to score goals that no other player can pull off.
He said: “He can score. He can pass. He can score from free kicks. He can do everything. So that’s what makes him special, against Leeds. He scored an amazing goal. I don’t know how he did but Cole thinks. And that’s why I think everyone said he’s a special player.”
Despite his praise, Pedro does not believe Cole Palmer is the best finisher at Chelsea. He handed that accolade to new signing Danny Welbeck.
The Brazilian has caused some worry amongst Chelsea fans ahead of their upcoming game against Brentford. Pedro was not seen in training on Tuesday, just three days before the trip across West London.
The immense start to the season for the attacking trio has gone some way to masking over the defensive frailties Xabi Alonso’s side currently have.
If he is absent, responsibility would fall on Welbeck to quickly strike up the same relationship with Palmer and Morgan Rogers to keep the free-scoring Blues on the front foot.
