**Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the fitness of Jurrien Timber and Piero Hincapie.**
Neither player was included in the matchday squad for the [**4-2 win over Ipswich Town**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-player-ratings-ipswich-town/) in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Timber’s absence was concerning, considering his recent injury problems, but when asked about the Dutchman before the match at Portman Road, Arteta said that the medical team were simply managing his workload:
“No, (he has not suffered a setback), everything is fine. He has played much more than we wanted. The other day he had 53 minutes after five months out. We need to look after him.”
Hincapie has picked up an injury
--------------------------------
The Ecuadorian international was expected to feature against Ipswich, having not started versus Sunderland at the weekend, and when asked about Hincapie, Arteta replied:
“With some players, they were carrying some fatigue, some real issues we have to look after. Other players are available, fresh and in better condition to play.”
It is believed that Hincapie has sustained a muscular injury, and it remains to be seen whether he will be back in contention to face Brighton on Saturday.
Other Arsenal injury news
-------------------------
Three other players are currently on the treatment table. Ben White was forced off at halftime against Sunderland with a groin issue. It is unlikely that he will return before the international break.
Arteta was optimistic about Cristhian Mosquera’s chances of featuring in either the Sunderland or Ipswich game, but the Spaniard was not deemed fit enough for either match. He picked up a muscular problem in the 1-0 win over Aston Villa at the end of last month.
William Saliba is a long-term absentee. A decision was made not to have surgery on his back injury, but it is up for debate whether that was the correct choice. He has already been out for two months, with no indication that he has begun rehabilitation.
