Shim Mheuka and Landon Emenalo may find that they have a new manager after the international break, and a Chelsea icon has thrown his hat into the ring.
Legendary manager Martin O’Neill admitted his own shortcomings as Celtic manager after bitter rivals Rangers hammered Celtic on Sunday in the Scottish League Cup quarter-finals; Rangers winning 3-0.
It has been, otherwise, a decent start to the season. O’Neill has guided Celtic to eight wins from 10, but the other defeat was a 5-1 hammering against LASK Linz, ending Celtic’s Champions League hopes.

Ruud Gullit wants to become Celtic’s next manager
There is no indication that Celtic are going to make a change. But a crucial week awaits O’Neill: a first Europa League match of the season against Ferencvaros, before Celtic host Rangers at Parkhead.

I honestly think we have a reservoir of super talented kid but this Ibrahim Rabaj stands out for with raw dribbling skill and creativity. I love his poise on the ball he can be our Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Two losses and O’Neill may find he is replaced during the break. Speaking to ComeOn, Ruud Gullit has thrown his hat into the ring to become the new Celtic manager, admitting he could not refuse an offer.
“I’d be interested in replacing Martin O’Neill at Celtic if the right offer came along – I see the game as a manager and know how to do it. Frank Rijkaard is retired. He doesn’t want to go back into management.
“He doesn’t want to do it. Not even if Celtic came and spoke to him. He has had enough of it. As for me, I enjoy what I do now. Working in television is nice. Of course, if the right offer came in,” Gullit explained.
“And it is an offer you cannot refuse, you would have to react to it, but I don’t know. I see the game as a manager. I’ve done it before. I know how to do it. I don’t know how I would react to a job offer today.”
Gullit’s last time in charge, and Mheuka’s impressive start
It has been 15 years since he managed a club. The Dutchman took charge of 83 games as Chelsea boss, winning 41 times at a rate of 49%. It comes after playing 63 times for the Blues at the end of his career.

After spells in charge of Newcastle, Feyenoord and LA Galaxy, a 13-game stint as manager of Russian side Terek Grozny saw Gullit’s last stint come to an end. It would be a shock if Celtic hired the Chelsea legend.
However, there is a world where Mheuka and Emenalo – Chelsea’s two loanees at Celtic – could become players at Gullit’s disposal. Mheuka has made an impressive start at Celtic, with fans impressed so far.
