Former Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold could be set for a major financial windfall following his investment in F1 team Alpine. The Real Madrid defender bought a stake in the Enstone-based racing team back in 2023 as part of Otro Capital - a consortium involving Rory McIlroy and Anthony Joshua.
The trio are now able to capitalise on their investment in the Alpine F1 team after a three-year lock-in period came to an end. Former Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata and NFL stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are also part of Otro Capital who could be set for a financial boost.
When Otro Capital, acquired a 24% shareholding in the Renault-owned Formula 1 outfit in 2023 for £173.2m, terms in the deal meant the investors could only sell within three years with advance consent.

City AM report that the restriction has now lapsed, paving the way for a potential sale.
Otro Capital has engaged in discussions with several prospective buyers and, with F1 team valuations soaring, is targeting a three-fold profit. Whether they can secure that figure remains uncertain.

Mercedes withdrew from negotiations in May, determining that the £606.3m asking price was excessive. A group associated with former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is also believed to be showing interest.
