A viral post on social media that claimed Liverpool was offering a VIP Immersive Experience for an upcoming charity match has been confirmed as fake by the club.
The post appeared to show the Reds offering a £25,000 ($33,700) package, which included perks such as choosing a substitution, on a fake mock-up of the official Liverpool website.
We previously posted a story that LFC advertised this package on its website. We have been told this was absolutely never the case.
There are other ways that money is being raised for the charity match, called Game4Hope, which will take place at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The whole event is raising money to tackle homelessness around Merseyside and beyond, with tickets still available to watch the game.
Icons of both Liverpool and Everton will be combining in a Merseyside XI on Saturday, 26 September, where they will take on a Rest of the World XI.
Peter Reid and John Barnes will be on the sidelines as joint-managers for the Merseyside outfit, while the likes of Robbie Fowler, John Aldridge, and Ryan Babel will be among those of a Reds persuasion in the team.

The Rest of the World XI will feature well-known stars such as Brazilian icon Cafu, former Netherlands and Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and more.
There will also be live entertainment, with rapper Tinie Tempah set to feature in a performance at half-time.
