**Cesar Peixoto** looked ahead to the **Carabao Cup** clash for **Wolves** with **Everton**.
The _Old Gold_ decided to part ways with **Rob Edwards** in June despite the improvement he got out of the team at the bottom of the **Premier League** table over the last two thirds of the 2025/26 season.
Peixoto departed his native Portugal to take on the role of a head coach at the **Molineux Stadium**, and his men have made a solid start to the season in the second tier. The team kept their first clean sheet in the **Championship** with a 1-0 win over **Sheffield United** on the weekend, and they sit three points behind first placed **West Ham—** having played one fewer fixture in the league than the _Hammers_.
·**‘We have confidence in all the players’**
--------------------------------------------
Next on the schedule is a trip to the **Hill Dickinson Stadium** to play against the _Toffees_. **Everton** are still unbeaten in the **Premier League** after draws with **Bournemouth**, **Tottenham** and **Manchester United** as well as a 2-0 victory over **Crystal Palace**. Though they represent top tier opposition, **Everton** will not dissuade Peixoto from putting faith in his other squad members through rotation.
_“I’ll make changes because we have confidence in all the players. We have players who need minutes, so they are to the same level to fight each other to play in the starting 11. I want to see what we’re capable of doing against_ **_Everton_** _and we’ll put out a competitive team because I have a lot of confidence in all of the players._
_“If the players fight with each other for places in training during the week, then we’ll be stronger when we have to compete against other teams. I want that competition inside the squad, always with respect. It helps improve the players individually and the team collectively._
_“It’s better when you have a week to train last week, so the team grows up._
_“I analysed the last game \[against_ **_Birmingham_**_\] and we grew up and won \[against_ **_Sheffield United_**_.\] But it is what it is, we have to manage the situation, the Championship is like that. We have to recover and that’s why I want two players for per position, to face these kinds of games._
_“We need all of the players. On Sunday we showed that players who come from the bench are very important to winning the game. I want to give players confidence, give them minutes and give them space to show their quality in matches because I have confidence in them all.”_
