After making a pair of signings on Tuesday, a New York Knicks rumor links the team to more potential veteran additions before training camp for the 2026-27 season opens in a couple of weeks.
After bringing the city its first NBA title in 53 years, Knicks fans will soon have to end their months of celebration because the new season is drawing near. This offseason, New York looked to keep themselves strong for a potential repeat when they re-signed valuable rotation players like Landry Shamet, Jordan Clarkson, and Jose Alvarado.
Although they lost popular backup center Mitchell Robinson to rivals the Boston Celtics in NBA free agency, they hope to fill the void with two-time All-Star Andre Drummond. However, following the signings, the Knicks still had a couple of spots open on their roster before camp opens on the 28th.
Well, yesterday they seemingly filled those spots when they agreed to deals with undrafted NBA veterans John Konchar and Drew Eubanks. The former is a swingman who brings rebounding and hustle, while the latter is a solid big man to help fill the Robinson void in the new season. Yet, the front office may not be done adding veteran depth.
Gabe Vincent and James Wiseman on NY Knicks radar
In a new report, SNY’s Ian Begley noted that the Knicks still have three open two-way spots. But what worthwhile players are left to sign? The Knicks insider offered up three possible options.
“Other players the Knicks have been in touch with as training camp nears: Gabe Vincent and big men Duop Reath and James Wiseman, per SNY sources.”

Vincent is a rock-solid rotation point guard who also brings energy and defense. While he has had several down years in a row, he was a notable contributor to the Miami Heat’s run to the NBA Finals three years ago. Reath has played his three NBA seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. While he posted 9 points and 4 rebounds in 18 minutes during his debut, he fell out of the team’s rotation the last two years.
Wiseman would be an interesting addition because he has been a starter in the NBA for teams like the Golden State Warriors and Detroit Pistons, and is only 25 years old. However, the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft suffered a torn Achilles two years ago and has played very little over the last two seasons. At his best, he had the ability to average around 10 points, 6 rebounds, and a block a night.
