Everton vs Wolves Lineups - A Rejuvenated Squad: Everton Predicted Lineup for 2024/25 Season
Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Everton tonight as the two sides meet in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Both clubs will be hoping to progress to the fourth round, although significant rotation is expected at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Wolves come into the match after an impressive 1-0 away win over Sheffield United on Sunday, with Raul Jimenez scoring a dramatic 90th-minute winner at Bramall Lane. The result moved Wolves up to seventh in the Championship, with a game in hand. Everton, meanwhile, enter the cup tie after an unbeaten start to their Premier League campaign and will be looking to maintain that momentum. David Moyes has a difficult balancing act, however, with the Toffees facing the prospect of rotating a relatively small squad.

Everton Team News
Everton are expected to make changes for their Carabao Cup meeting with Wolves as Moyes looks to balance the competition’s demands with the Premier League campaign.
The Toffees have made a solid unbeaten start to the season and kept three clean sheets in their opening five matches across all competitions. However, their squad depth could mean Moyes is forced to manage his senior players carefully. Christian Nørgaard and Merlin Rohl are currently Everton’s only injury concerns.
Wolves Team News
Wolves are also expected to make several changes for their trip to Everton, with the Black Country derby against West Bromwich Albion in mind, as well as Kieran Trippier’s need to manage his minutes after returning from injury. Peixoto’s side return to Molineux on Sunday to face their local rivals in one of the biggest fixtures of their Championship season. With only four days between the trip to Everton and the visit of West Brom, Wolves are unlikely to risk key players in a Carabao Cup tie if there is any concern over fatigue or injury. Peixoto had this to say after last weekend’s win:
“It was nice to see the players with confidence, playing good football, good pressure, controlling the game, character, team spirit. It means that, for me, we can do this because they have quality. A good result can change everything. It can change the spirit of the team, change the atmosphere. I’ve missed it a lot, the smiles of my players and the supporters, and today I think we have reasons to smile.”

The Last Word
With teams rotating for this one, Everton’s Premier League quality should shine through. With fewer options, it could be a difficult night for Wolves, especially with Sunday’s Black Country derby in mind. Everton should have enough quality to hold off Wolves and progress to the fourth round.
