Liverpool has shown its class once again after their latest social media post about Andy Robertson.
On Tuesday, Robertson returned to Anfield for the first time since leaving Liverpool and joining Tottenham on a free transfer. The Scotsman brought a trophy-laden nine-year stay on Merseyside to a close following the expiration of his contract at the end of the 25/26 campaign.
Since then, the 32-year-old has linked up with Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham, but has endured a rather difficult start as Spurs is yet to score a goal in the Premier League, collecting just two points from four matches.
On Tuesday, a much-changed Liverpool side was still too good for Spurs, with Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai scoring in a 3-1 victory. Conor Gallagher netted for the visitors.
Robertson started on the bench and was brought on in the 57th minute, replacing Destiny Udogie.
As expected, the former Reds star was given a warm reception as Liverpool fans stood up and applauded as Robertson entered the fray, with Cody Gakpo also seen clapping for his former teammate.

Now, Liverpool has gone one step further by paying tribute to Robertson on social media.
On its official X (Formerly Twitter) account, Liverpool posted a 20-second clip of Robertson’s Anfield return, showing fans clapping and chanting his name, with a caption that read: “Ohhh, Andy, Andy.”
Speaking after the match to BBC Radio 5 Live, Reds boss Andoni Iraola stated that Robertson deserved his warm welcome on his first trip to Anfield since leaving the club.
He said: “I think he deserves all this and I was happy. I was thinking he honestly deserves this because he has given so much to Liverpool.”
Signed for just $10.7 million (£8 million) back in 2017 after Hull City’s relegation to the Championship, Robertson went on to become a club legend.
Along with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, Robertson played a major role as Jurgen Klopp turned Liverpool into one of the very best teams in world football.
After Klopp’s departure, Robertson took on a more senior role and was instrumental once more as Liverpool won the 24/25 Premier League title under Arne Slot.
However, at the start of the 25/26 season, Liverpool brought in Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, which meant Robertson’s game time dropped drastically; he made only 24 appearances in the Premier League, scoring once.
In the end, Robertson decided to leave Liverpool and signed for Tottenham during the summer transfer window.
Tottenham will be searching for their first win of the 26/27 Premier League season this weekend when they take on Aston Villa on Saturday.
