Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has revealed his children are massive fans of the Blues and watch every single fixture of his former club. Almost three years after bringing the curtain down on his illustrious career, the retired Belgian playmaker has suggested his household’s allegiance to the West London outfit remains unshakeable.
Hazard, a father to five boys, has always spoken of his love for Stamford Bridge since leaving for Real Madrid in 2019. His latest comments come at an important time for Chelsea, as they have begun a new era under Xabi Alonso after a turbulent season in which Liam Rosenior was appointed in January and then sacked in April.
The 35-year-old Belgian said, thinking about his family’s devotion to Chelsea:
“All my kids are big Chelsea fans. We have to watch them every time they play. We want them to win. We want them at the top.”
Hazard and Chelsea supporters share a lasting emotional bond, and they voted him Player of the Season a record four times. He joined from Lille in June 2012 for a reported fee of £32million and scored 85 goals in 245 Premier League appearances.
In a glittering seven-year spell, the Belgian was instrumental in Chelsea winning two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup and two Europa League crowns. His exploits were formally immortalised in 2025 when he was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Chelsea battle with Hull City as Xabi Alonso’s plan is threatened by defensive frailties
Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by newly promoted Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, extending an erratic start to their Premier League campaign. Morgan Rogers gave the lead in the seventh minute, but the visitors were soon in control thanks to two goals from Mohamed Belloumi in the 28th and 34th minutes.
Cole Palmer set up Joao Pedro for the equaliser on the hour mark. But the picture was bleak beneath the numbers as Hull produced 1.38 xG to Chelsea’s 0.91 despite the hosts enjoying 68% of possession. The Tigers also had four big chances to Chelsea’s two, and Belloumi was handed the Player of the Match award with an 8.5 rating.
The stalemate leaves the Blues sitting sixth in the Premier League standings with seven points from four matches, having scored 10 times and conceded nine. Alonso’s side have conceded in all their league games so far this season, and it’s a problem they need to solve before making the trip to Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium on Friday.
