Wolves talisman Raul Jimenez hobbled out of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup first half at Everton sparking injury fears just days before the Black Country derby.

Jimenez, who was a surprise inclusion in Wednesday’s much-changed line-up at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, lasted until a little over 35 minutes of the third round tie on Merseyside.
He made a defensive challenge just outside Wolves’ ‘D’ but felt pain in the left knee afterwards.
The Mexican received lengthy treatment from Wolves physios before heading gingerly down the tunnel looking disappointed after being consoled by team-mates and opposition players. He was replaced by Adam Armstrong.
Jimenez was one of nine changes made by the Wolves head coach for the midweek tie, just three-and-a-half days before Sunday’s eagerly-anticipated clash against the Baggies.
The striker was Wolves’ last-gasp hero in Sunday’s 1-0 victory at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane after emerging from the bench.
Jimenez missed both Black Country derbies played behind closed doors in 2021 after his serious head injury suffered against Arsenal in November 2020.
Peixoto’s men went into half-time goalless in the Everton tie.
