England international Rio Ngumoha has enjoyed a meteoric rise at Liverpool since last season and is regarded as a future superstar.
Liverpool are keen to ensure his development continues at Anfield rather than allowing a Premier League rival to test their resolve.

Arsenal are admirers of the England youth international and would welcome the chance to add another dynamic wide player to their attack.
The Gunners did not sign a direct replacement for Gabriel Martinelli in the summer summer. They replaced Leandro Trossard with Christos Tzolis and explored more ambitious options, including Morgan Rogers, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, without landing another high-profile winger.
According to the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele, Arsenal’s interest is not advanced and remains exploratory. However, it is genuine, with the Gunners monitoring the situation in case Ngumoha struggles for game time following the arrivals of Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz at Anfield.
Liverpool, though, would not entertain offers for Ngumoha. His contract runs until 2028, but the club plan to extend it and see him as a future world-class player who will get plenty of minutes this season.
Ngumoha is understood to be aware of interest from several clubs, including Arsenal and Bayern Munich, but remains happy at Liverpool.
Ngumoha signed a three-year professional contract last year, the longest deal a player of his age could sign. Liverpool also have a salary cap for young players, although Ngumoha will be well rewarded through bonuses.
Ngumoha could be named in England’s squad for the upcoming Nations League matches after impressing on his senior debut against New Zealand in a World Cup warm-up.
Liverpool are keen to reward his rapid development over the past 12 months with a new contract, although there is no update on a new deal yet.
Ngumoha joined Liverpool from Chelsea in 2024, with the Reds later ordered to pay £2.8million in compensation, potentially rising to £6.8m with bonuses.
He started against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and Tottenham in the Carabao Cup. Despite the arrival of Bradley Barcola, he is expected to receive plenty of opportunities under Andoni Iraola.
Ngumoha made nine starts last season and is already close to matching that tally this term. Liverpool will continue to manage his minutes carefully, but he is now trusted with more starts and longer appearances.
Iraola’s rotation of his wide players means Ngumoha, Barcola, Cody Gakpo and Victor Munoz are all expected to get significant game time.
