Norwich City will face a home clash with Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup fourth round if they can overcome Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night.
The Seagulls booked their place in the next stage after producing a stunning comeback to beat Manchester United 3-2 at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening. Brighton trailed 2-0 inside 10 minutes before fighting back with goals from Charalampos Kostoulas, Pascal Gross and Maxim De Cuyper to seal a memorable victory and progress in the competition.
For Norwich, the draw presents the prospect of another meeting with Premier League opposition should Philippe Clement’s side spring a major surprise against Enzo Maresca’s men. Should they pull of a shock, they will become the only Championship side to progress to round four.
The two clubs last met in the FA Cup at Carrow Road in January 2025, when Brighton eased to a 4-0 victory thanks to a Georginio Rutter brace and further strikes from Julio Enciso and Solly March.
Before any thoughts turn to amother showdown with Fabian Hurzeler’s team, however, Norwich must first negotiate the formidable challenge of Manchester City.
